Bunny Interaction Rules

visitors are encouraged to:

  • Leave the bunnies on the floor. Please do NOT attempt to pick them up. Bunnies are prey animals and do not appreciate being lifted in the air. Seating is low to the ground allowing visitors to interact with the bunnies at their level. If a bunny is feeling cuddly, they may climb into a lap to for some up close and personal attention.
  • Use low voices. Because they are prey animals, they become easily startled by loud noises and fast movement. We strive to provide the quietest and most relaxed environment possible for their safety and wellbeing.
  • Do the bunny shuffle. We ask visitors to shuffle slowly and deliberately while using extra caution not to step on the bunnies who may dart underfoot or bolt toward open enclosure doors.
  • Be nice to the bunnies. Bunnies are fragile creatures and should be gently stroked, never squeezed, pushed upon or chased.
  • Feed only the leafy greens provided for the bunnies. Food intake for the bunnies is closely monitored to make sure they are not getting too much. Being overweight is unhealthy for bunnies.  Although we'd love to give each visitor unlimited amounts of greens, only a small amount will be provided in each enclosure.
  • Follow the Cuddle Bunny rules. We reserve the right to ask visitors to leave the space if, in our sole discretion, we feel the rules are not being followed or visitors are disruptive to the tranquility of the space.

Rules for Children Age 5+

ONLY CHILDREN AGE 5+ ARE ALLOWED TO INTERACT WITH THE BUNNIES - STRICTLY ENFORCED EFFECTIVE 6.1.23

We have striven to be as inclusive as possible.  However, in the time we have been in existence, we have concluded that very young children and small rabbits are often not a good combination.  Toddlers are unstable on their feet and there is a risk of them falling and injuring the bunnies. This would be traumatic for all involved and is not a risk we are willing to take. As a very small business, we are not staffed for the additional time and attention it takes to monitor interactions of very small children.  And many staff members are not comfortable handling this level of responsibility!

We are more of a therapeutic space aimed at supporting teens, college-aged visitors, and adults rather than a petting zoo for very small children.  While children ages 5 and up are welcome to join us under the watchful eye of their parents, we do request one paying adult be present in the enclosure for each child's reservation under the age of 8.  Children must be able to sit quietly for the 15-20 minute period spent in each of 3 separate enclosures.

If visitors make a reservation for a child under the age of 5 and end up being turned away, NO REFUNDS will be issued.

Thank you for your understanding!
