All the bunnies at Cuddle Bunny are incredibly social creatures and thrive on human attention. The greatest of care is taken to ensure their health and happiness in the least stressful environment possible.
Th bunnies alternate days upstairs engaging in interactions and are given a day off in between as a break from the action. On their day off, they remain downstairs where volunteers arrive for both morning and afternoon shifts to give them the human attention (and cilantro!) they crave.
Their diet consists of 80% Oxbow timothy hay, 10% fresh greens, 5% enriched pellets, and 5% treats of fresh fruit including apples, bananas, blueberries and an occasional biscuit. Their water bowls are sanitized and refreshed with filtered, room-temperature water daily. Their litter pans are lined with a training pad (for the non-chewers), filled with Timothy hay, and changed daily. They receive a weekly papaya tablet or petromalt supplement to keep their digestive systems moving smoothly. Their nails are trimmed and weigh & temperature taken monthly. Their intake and output is continually monitored, they are regularly examined by a veterinarian, and all are spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated.
At the end of the day while the humans are undertaking closing activities, our bunnies are given free roam of the interaction area to stretch their legs, exercise and binky about. The carpeted runner spanning the length of the interaction space is the bunny race track! At night, the bunnies retreat to the living/boarding area downstairs where they enjoy smelling, and hearing and witnessing each other's antics
